Disney has released the first official trailer for the fifth installment of Pirates of the Carribbean, aptly named Dead Men Tell No Tales. Hurricane Matthew’s Impact on Disney World and DCL
The worst of Hurricane Matthew has blown through, and now begins the recovery phase. The hurricane forced rerouting of several Disney cruises and the closure of all Walt Disney World parks, an extraordinarily rare set of events.

The Real Main Street USA – Marceline, MO
Walt Disney grew up in the small midwestern town of Marceline, Missouri. Though he headed west for Los Angeles as a young adult and grew his empire in California, he continued to draw inspiration from his home throughout his life. In fact, the very street he walked as a kid was reimagined with a magical twist. Main Street USA became the entryway for his passion project: Disneyland (and later many other Disney parks!).

Elena of Avalor
This month the Magic Kingdom welcomed Disney’s first Latina princess. Elena of Avalor is the star of her own Disney Channel show, which has just been renewed for its second season. The show follows Elena Castillo Flores, a young princess and the ruler and protector of Avalor. She protects the kingdom from an evil sorceress, studies leadership under a Grand Council, and cares for a pack of Jacquins, magical winged animals.

Jamestowne Fort
Last week, Explorer Mel visited Jamestowne Fort, home of Pocahontas and the site of her marriage to John Rolfe. Mel got to see the real-life home of a Disney heroine, and managed to limit herself to only one rendition of Colors of the Wind!
