This month the Magic Kingdom welcomed Disney’s first Latina princess. Elena of Avalor is the star of her own Disney Channel show, which has just been renewed for its second season. The show follows Elena Castillo Flores, a young princess and the ruler and protector of Avalor. She protects the kingdom from an evil sorceress, studies leadership under a Grand Council, and cares for a pack of Jacquins, magical winged animals.

On August 11, the Magic Kingdom officially introduced Princess Elena, and she is now available for meet and greets in the park. Disney live streamed the event, where Elena got the chance to show off her skills on the acoustic guitar!

Elena of Avalor airs on Disney Channel Fridays at 7:30 pm. She will be making daily appearances in the Magic Kingdom for the foreseeable future, though Disney has yet to release specific details. Keep your eye on the Disney Parks Blog for the latest information about Elena’s appearances in the park.
